• 2. 3D Pen
•  Choose a reliable and easy-to-use 3D pen. There are several options available in the market, so find one that suits your budget and preferences.
• 3. PLA Filament
•  Select PLA filament in colors that match your favorite Mortal Kombat characters or themes.
• 4. 3D Pen Mat
•  A plastic surface or silicon pad specifically designed to handle the temperature of 3d pen allowing to trace your designs safely.
• 5. Soldering Iron
•  A soldering iron preferably with knife tip and a temperature regulator. 220c with 230c is usually sufficient to prevent burnt plastic residue on the working surface.
• 6. Sandpaper
•  For this project we re gonna use grits 120-240, 400 and 1000 respectively, for smooth finish.
• 7. Acrylic Paint
• Choose a modelling paint for vibrant color results and better durability on the model.

Step 1: Preparing the template

Before you start using the 3D pen, ensure that the surface you've working is clean and free of any dirt or moisture. This will help the PLA filament adhere properly to the surface.

Step 2: Trace the Game Logo

Start with the outlines and gradually add depth to the design. Take your time and be patient, as this step requires precision and attention to detail. Attach the Logo Ring on top of Main Ring to give it a 3d depth.

Step 3: Create the Holder Frame

After tracing the outlines, it's time to fill to make the frame that will hold the cup in place and connect them together to form a L shape.

Create the ring by tracing the Cup Ring from the template and build up the shape by making a circular motion on top of each layer in slow setting of 3d pen.

Smooth the parts by using a Soldering iron with a knife tip at 220c-230c and shape the details based on reference images.

Step 4: Create The Spikes

Trace 9 pieces from the stencil and smooth them all together with the soldering iron.

Connect them with the 3D Pen on top of the Cup Ring within leaving a 2cm distance space between each spike.

Step 5: Adding Extra Details (Optional)

After completing your cup holder, you could draw extra details to decorate your creation.

Draw an extra layer around the top ring that represent a red liquid.

Cut some PLA in small pieces and bend with a lighter to make a circular shape that will represent a chain.

Step 6: Sanding Process

Sand all the parts starting with a sandpaper 120 grit, followed by 220 after the first pass. The finishing should be done with 600 or up 1000 grit depending on the smoothness we want to achieve on the final model.

Prime the figure by using any kind spray primer or brush-on with filler inside to fill the tiny imperfections occurred from sanding. Ensure that primer is fully dried prior painting it with any color, the best is leave to dry for 24 hours.
